Commonwealth’s full service repair facilities are staffed by factory trained service technicians who maintain rental equipment as well as patient owned equipment. We are certified by Invacare, Mallinckrodt Puritan Bennett, Respironics and other leading manufacturer’s. All repair work is done onsite at our corporate headquarters.

Commonwealth provides billing for most insurance. We participate with Virginia and North Carolina Medicare, Medicaid and BC/BS. We are happy to bill claims with any other insurance for payment consideration. Note that all insurances require doctor’s orders and each claim is subject to the policies guidelines and provisions. We will obtain prior authorizations when necessary. We also will file any Medicare supplement claim that does not get crossed over. Our billing staff will be happy to assist you with any billing questions you may have.

Oxygen Therapy
Not all oxygen systems are created equal. We carry different types of oxygen equipment so that we can meet your needs whether you are highly mobile and need oxygen at all times or only need oxygen at certain times. The different systems include:

• Oxygen Concentrators – machines that run on AC electricity and produce high concentrations of oxygen by concentrating the oxygen content of room air. These are the most efficient systems as they never need to be refilled.
• Oxygen Cylinders – cylinders containing compressed oxygen that come in a variety of sizes to meet individual needs. We have small cylinders that weigh only a few pounds that can be easily carried in a bag or pouch, large cylinders that weigh over 150 pounds that can provide emergency oxygen for extended periods during power outages, etc. and a range of sizes in between.
  • Pre-filled Cylinders – these are the standard cylinders that we fill and deliver on a regular basis
  • HomeFillä Cylinders- hybrid systems that allow a patient to fill their own cylinders
  • Oxygen Conserving Devices (OCD) – electronic regulators that allow a patient to extend usage times of smaller cylinders
• Liquid Oxygen – oxygen that is stored in a cryogenic or refrigerated liquid state. The advantage of liquid oxygen is that it is denser and allows for smaller, more portable containers that last longer than their gaseous counterparts. We also carry the Heliosä liquid oxygen systems that combine the portability of liquid with the efficiency of an oxygen conserving device.
